DJ Mustard has one request for people: Don't Box Me, which is the name of his new EP. Clearly, the 27-year-old doesn't want to be pigeonholed for making one type of sound, and it'll be harder for people to do that after they hear this project.

The EP consists of three well-known songs that Mustard remixed, Lil Uzi Vert's "XO Tour Llif3, Childish Gambino's "Redbone" and Khalid's "Location" and he did all three great justice.

On "Redbone" for example, Mustard fattens up the track with distorted bass and speeds it up some but maintains its overall sexiness. And on "XO Tour Llif3," he creates a dance friendly record that could play just as well in a club as it could at a summer festival. The Cali beatmaker also flips "Location" in a unique way, showing that he has no fear behind the boards.

It's no surprise that Mustard has remained productive since his 2016 Cold Summer album dropped.

Since then, he appeared in the video for the song "Ridin' Around," popped up in the Tidal documentary For Every 12 Hours, made fans happy when he reunited with YG on the cut "Pop It, Shake It," and he also produced a nice cut for Kid Ink on the Ty Dolla Sign-assisted "F With You."

Mustard will be playing at JAY-Z's Budweiser Made In America Festival in September of this year, so it doesn't seem he's been taking too much time off.
