Dead or alive, U.K. grime pioneer Dizzee Rascal intends to be the first rapper in space.

In an interview with British Esquire magazine, Dizzee revealed that through his friendship with billionaire entrepeneur Richard Branson's son, Sam Branson, he has attempted to secure a space on an upcoming Virgin Galactic commercial space flight, and even went so far as to say that he hopes to have his cremated ashes released in outer space.

"I've asked Sam to reserve my place and I meant it," Dizzee explained. "When I die, I want my ashes scattered in space. I just love the possibilities of what could happen. I know it sounds a bit nerdy, but your particles could merge with something." Branson's comercial space travel program is still in its testing phase, and prices for a seat on a flight are currently set at a lofty $200,000.

Apparently Branson and Dizzee have been hanging tough since this past summer, when the rapper was invited to party with Sam Branson and his mates on Necker, his father's exclusive retreat in the British Virgin Islands, where Dizzee was reportedly "the most fun guest at Necker ever."

Not bad for the 'Boy in da Corner.'
