British rapper Dizzee Rascal has joined the recent surge of rappers including Lupe Fiasco and Soulja Boy, who have announced plans to release books in the coming months.

Rascal, real name Dylan Mills, is set to release a memoir titled 'The Dizzee Rascal Story,' in October. His label, Dirtee Stank Records, has teamed up with Canongate Books to debut the project under the newly minted label Dirtee Books. The East London rapper will co-write the book with author Ben Thompson in an effort to give fans "intimate insight" into his life. The 24-year-old will explore his difficult childhood -- including a near fatal stabbing incident in 2003 -- as well as his lyrics and his eventual rise to music fame.

'The DIzzee Rascal Story' will be released in hardcover in October, followed by paperback in the summer of 2011. Canongate and Dirtee Stank also have plans to release an audiobook, an enhanced e-book and an iPhone application for the upcoming memoir. Dizzee Rascal released his Mercury Prize-winning debut album 'Boy in Da Corner' in 2003, the same year of the famed stabbing incident. His fourth album, 'Tongue N' Cheek' was released in 2009, garnering his best commercial success to date.
