Common Shows Up With Face Tattoos and Septum Piercing on ‘Suicide Squad’ Set [PHOTOS]
Comic book fans have clamored for the movie Suicide Squad for a while now. Now they get another sneak peek at what's to come with some newly leaked photos from the set in Toronto. Common was caught on the set of the DC Comics flick in character, sporting face tattoos and a septum piercing.
The "Testify" rapper's role in the film was confirmed in April, but his character has remained a mystery. Some fans assumed he'd play Black Manta, a super villain who is the archenemy of Aquaman. However, judging by the picture, he could also be taking on the role of Bronze Tiger (look at his jacket) or Tattooed Man because, well, the tattoos on his face. The 43-year old rapper appears to be settling into his new character smoothly.
Suicide Squad will feature Will Smith and Margot Robbie and will be directed by David Ayer. This definitely serves as a different and unique role for Common, who previously starred in movies like Just Wright, American Gangster, Wanted and Selma. To see him step into a darker and more sinister role will certainly be interesting. We've witnessed Jamie Foxx play a similar role in The Amazing Spider-man 2 as the antagonist Electro. Let's see if Common can match his intensity.
Common (and all of his tattoos) are set appear in Suicide Squad when the movie arrives on Aug. 16, 2016.
