Charles Hamilton to be Subject of New Documentary About His Music and Battling Bipolar Disorder [TRAILER]
There's an interesting documentary coming out on Harlem rapper Charles Hamilton, and the trailer just hit the Internet.
Released by Red Bull TV as part of the brand's Let It Play series, the piece is called Faultlines, and it follows Hamilton as he tries to get his career back on track after going through some turbulent times, including being diagnosed with bipolar disorder.
"I was on a very self-destructive path," said the rapper and piano player in the trailer. "I wanna be clear that you can bounce back."
The 29-year-old also said that he's thankful for all the help he's received during those difficult times, and initially he was reluctant to receive any assistance at all.
"It was so important for me to share my story right now," he explained in a press release. "I'm grateful to my family for intervening, because I didn't want help. I just wanted to create in my room in the dark."
"I have a newfound passion in advocating for artists, young people and other men of color that may be unsure of beginning the process toward wellness. I want to make an impact in this world, whether that's through my music or my life's story," added Hamilton.
