Chance the Rapper Encourages Voting with Parade to the Polls Concert Event
Chance the Rapper doesn't just stand for good ass music, he stands for social and human rights - starting with America's right and need to vote in tomorrow's presidential election.
Beginning at 3:00 pm CST today, Lil Chano's non-profit organization, SocialWorks, is partnering with Virgin Hotels Chicago and the TurboVote Challenge for a get-out-and-vote rally/concert, Parade to the Polls at the Petrillo Music Shell in Grant Park in Chicago, IL. The event is slated to host a line-up of homegrown musical entertainment including Twin Peaks, Taylor Bennett and Malcolm London.
With the help of the TurboVote Challenge, which "brings leading companies and organizations together in a nonpartisan, long-term commitment to increase voter participation," SocialWorks representatives will lead groups of people in a Parade to the Polls to their nearest polling station at 15 W. Washington St during the course of the two-hour event.
In conjunction with with its partnering organizations, SocialWorks is teaming up with Boost Your Voice, an initiative promoting voter equality, to bring #ParadeToThePolls to life.
Tomorrow, Nov. 8, marks election day, so make sure to get out and vote (correctly)!
