Cardi B Makes History With ‘Invasion of Privacy’ Going Gold in a Day
Cardi B is truly making money moves. The Bronx rapper’s debut album, Invasion of Privacy, has been certified Gold by the RIAA in just only a day.
The gold certification comes with a technicality though. According to Forbes, the project reportedly received the brand new certification due to the success of her five-times platinum-selling single “Bodak Yellow.”
The Chart Data states that 10 track units is the equivalent of one album sale, which means that her No. 1 single, which is on her album, has already sold 500,000 units, making it Gold status.
However, the single’s success will not go towards her first week sales of the album. Nevertheless, this a great achievement for the 25-year-old rapper who has worked very hard to become one of the hottest rappers in the game right now.
In addition, Cardi B fans will get a chance to see her perform tonight on Saturday Night Live as the musical guest. Then on Monday (April 9), she will co-host The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, a first in the show’s history.
Finally, Spotify is airing a fun new TV ad featuring Cardi as she teaches a group of students her classic mouth effects before schooling the class with her fiery rap flow from Invasion of Privacy.
