Cardi B Is Headed to Hollywood, Inks Her First Movie Deal
Continuing her hot streak, Cardi B has inked her first movie deal.
According to TMZ, Cardi begins filming in March, though as of right now, there's no word on the tittle of the movie or what it's about. According to a TMZ source, Cardi has turned down other gigs because she'll be filming during that month.
This latest news comes after the rapper's breakout year following the success of her massive hit, "Bodak Yellow." She's set to perform at the upcoming Grammy Awards, likely with Bruno Mars because of their huge hit, "Finesse (Remix)" which is currently sitting high on the charts.
Last week, she made Forbes’ 2018 Hip-Hop's Future Moguls list (formerly known as Hip-Hop Cash Princes). The list honors artists under the age 30 who are making major waves in the rap industry.
Add to that her tremendous success on the Billboard charts this year, as she's made history more than once, and it's obvious that this is Cardi's time. At the beginning of the month, it was reported by Billboard that Cardi achieved yet another chart milestone, becoming the first rapper to to place her first three Billboard Hot 100 entries in the chart's top 10 simultaneously. She joined Ashanti and The Beatles as the only act to have completed the feat.
We'll have to see what the Bronx rapper does in Hollywood— but chances are it'll be big.
