Boosie Badazz Virginia Concert Canceled After Gunfire Erupts, Rapper Responds [VIDEO]
Boosie Badazz was set to perform at Virginia Motorsports Park in Dinwiddie, Va., on Saturday night (April 1) but had to scrap it after gunfire erupted during the festivities.
According to NBC12 in Virginia, Virginia Motorsports Park was hosting a day-long festival, which included a Big 5 State Bike Rally and car show. The event was supposed to conclude with a concert performance by Boosie Badazz.
The Dinwiddie Sheriff's Office said that gunfire erupted around 8PM, prior to Boosie’s arrival, which sent thousands of people scattering all over the park. Two people were rushed to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, but it’s unclear if those were from gunshots or from the melee afterward. Apparently, more shots were fired in the parking lot. The scene was so chaotic that one person was reportedly hit by a car.
William Knott of the Dinwiddie Sheriff's Office said no arrests have been made. "We're extremely lucky," he said. "This could have been a lot worse."
The annual event draws over 15,000 people, so it's a great relief that not a lot of people were injured during the chaos.
Boosie was not at the event during the reported shooting, but was "kind of pissed off" that he couldn't perform for the attendees. The Louisiana rapper posted a video (watch below) expressing his disgust. "That's f---ed up I was ready," he wrote in the caption. "My heart n prayers go out to the victims of last night."
