A deadly shooting has claimed the life of a beloved figure in the Atlanta rap scene. On Tuesday night (Nov. 1), three people were injured during a drive-by shooting in Atlanta. One person was fatally hit and died at Grady Memorial Hospital. The deceased victim was later identified as Demandril “Lil Money” Jackson.

According to Fox 5 Atlanta, Lil Money died while protecting his nephew, six-year-old local rap sensation Bankroll PJ. Ironically, Bankroll PJ's other uncle, Bankroll Fresh, died earlier this year by gun violence as well.

Apparently, the shooting stemmed from an argument between the gunman and the victims. Police say the shooter left the scene in a red pick-up truck. Family members says Bankroll PJ is doing fine but obviously saddened by the loss of his uncle, who was also his manager.

Gereka Grier, who is Lil Money's cousin, remembers him as being upbeat and happy. "He was always so full of life," she said, "he was always into the music."

Street Money executive Shadi Powers addressed Lil Money’s death on Instagram. He wrote in part:

"How can we teach our children that “black lives matter” directed at other groups of people, when our own black people are killing black people more than anyone else? I understand the message because I’m a grown man but how can you teach a beast or an animal to understand the importance of loving another black brother or sister and/or coming together in solidarity against societal ills that affect the black community? [RIP] Money, take this love with you and tell Bear, #StreetMoneyWorldWide still lives on!!! #LongLiveBankroll #LONGLIVEMONEY."

We want to send our condolences to the family and friends of Demandril 'Lil Money' Jackson. May he rest in peace.
