A$AP Ferg – ‘Hood Pope’

A$AP Ferg isn't afraid to proudly wear his influences on his sleeve, and that's apparent on the latest leak off 'Trap Lord,' the Bone Thugs-N-Harmony-tinged 'Hood Pope.'

Yesterday, we reported on the 'Trap Lord' track listing, which revealed that the third cut, 'Lord,' actually features Bone Thugs. That same track also precedes 'Hood Pope,' so it'll be interesting to hear if Ferg and the Cleveland legends provide some form of foreshadowing on 'Lord.'

Even if that's not the case, 'Hood Pope' is such a confident offering from Ferg that it easily stands up on its own. His approach to dizzying, ethereal hip-hop on here is refreshing and endearing, especially when the hook hits.
