Songbird Alicia Keys has been added as a performer at this year's MTV Video Music Awards. Keys will hit the stage alongside Jay-Z and will perform the song 'Empire State of Mind,' off of Jay's 'Blueprint 3' album.

Key's last performed at the 2007 VMAs, where she debuted her then single 'No One,' off her album 'As I Am.' During her performance, rockers Tommy Lee and Kid Rock got into a fight over model/actress Pamela Anderson, whom they were both married to. Undeterred Keys continued on with her performance while the two men were separated and escorted out of the venue.

This year's VMAs will include a slue of performances and appearances from some of music's biggest names. Pop icon Janet Jackson is slated to take the stage in a tribute performance to her late brother, Michael. Beyonce, Pink Lady Gaga, and Eminem will also perform while celebs Ne-Yo, Jennifer Lopez and Shakira are among the show's presenters.
