It’s been almost four years since the people of Flint, Mich., have had clean and safe drinking water. And that is completely unacceptable. Thankfully, Will Smith and his son, Jaden, will do their part to help Flint citizens.

According to MLive.com, JUST Water, a bottled water company started by Will and Jaden, has donated 9,200 bottles of water to the city, and will continue to donate monthly until the lead levels are down in public schools. For JUST Water CEO Ira Laufer, donating water to the city was "a no-brainer."

"This just makes sense for us to do," she said. "Jada Smith has visited Flint and met with the mayor. Flint is very dear to her heart...After reading more about [Flint's] challenges and the mayor objecting to pulling bottled water from the schools, we thought 'Let's help these kids.'"

JUST was founded by the father-and-son duo in an effort to cut down on polluted waste from plastic bottles. The product comes packaged in renewable resources, including sugar cane "plastic." The water is outsourced from an ethically sourced model contributing to the economy in Glenn Falls, N.Y.

While initial tests from February showed Flint schools' water lead levels below the federal action limit, five of nine schools had at least one test that exceeded that threshold.

Four pallets of JUST Water arrived at the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan on March 1 with more on the way.

"[The donation] is greatly appreciated," said Food Bank Vice President of Development Cathy Blankenship. "It's always generous that people are still thinking about Flint."
