Wale's love for sports has been well-documented in his lyrics (and on Twitter) so it makes perfect sense that the Washington Wizards would tap him to be their creative liaison.

Part of the Maybach Music Group rapper's responsibilities will be to put his personal stamp on team merchandise, be involved in charity events and help with promotional work through social media. The rhymer can't wait to get started.

"I'm excited to start building as the creative liaison for the Washington Wizards," he said in a statement. "As a D.C. native and lifelong Wizards fan, this is truly an exciting and organic relationship for me. We've got some exciting projects up our sleeve that will roll out throughout the season, so be on the lookout."

The 'Lotus Flower Bomb' creator will also be responsible for creating content for Monumental Network. Monumental Sports & Entertainment owns the Wizards, the Washington Capitals and the WNBA's Washington Mystics.

Joe Dupriest, the Senior Vice President of the company, says Wale is the perfect person to work with the Wizards since he represents his hometown well and always lends his support to the team. "His creativity and vision will help enhance our in-game experience, and his commitment to the Washington D.C. community is a perfect blend with our charitable pillars. This is truly a win-win relationship."
