It’s no secret that Trae tha Truth reps Houston, Texas to the fullest. The rap veteran’s love for his city was evident during his relief efforts for the displaced residents after Hurricane Harvey nearly destroy their city.

Back in July, Trae was supposed to celebrate Trae Day and received an honorary key to the city of Houston. But Hurricane Harvey put a kibosh on that.

But on Friday (Dec. 15), Trae finally got his well-deserved key. The Hustle Gang rhymer went on his Instagram page to reveal his prestgious honor.

On TraeDay I Was Declared The First Rapper To Recieve The Key To Tha City," he wrote i the caption. "But Because Of Hurricane Harvey, My Ceremony Was Delayed... Well Today The Mayor And City Officials Presented Me THE Official KEY TO THA CITY!!!! Blessed!! #KingTruth @reliefgang Humbled!! HoUSton This One For You!!!!"

But that's not all. In addition to his honorary key, Trae also received a Congressional Hero Award by the U.S. Congress for his community relief efforts following Hurricane Harvey.

Trae Tha Truth played a major role in helping Houstonians rebuild after the devastation by the hurricane. From setting up a relief fund for Harvey victims to giving out 75 scholarships so dozens of students can have money for higher education, Trae is truly for the people of Houston.
