Despite the controversy surrounding last year's event, Houston rapper Trae tha Truth has announced that he will be throwing his third annual "Trae Day" this July.

The anti-violence rally and free concert will be taking place in Houston on July 22, with performances by rap stars Lupe Fiasco, Young Buck, Yo Gotti, Waka Flocka Flame and more. The free event, which is sponsored by Trae's non-profit Angels By Nature, also will offer train and pony rides and face painting for children.

Though July 22 was designated "Trae Day" to acknowledge the rapper's community work with at-risk kids back in 2008, violence erupted at last year's event, where six people were shot. Local radio station KBXX 97.9 FM has since banned Trae's "violent" music from airplay.

In addition to the performers listed, this year's "Trae Day" will be hosted by Shade 45's Angela Yee, DJ Khaled and comic Lil' Duval. Though the concert is free, attendees are encouraged to bring school supplies as a donation for Houston's at-risk youth.
