It was announced earlier this week that T.I. would be heading to Arkansas to serve his 366-day prison sentence at a low-security federal prison in Forrest City -- about 85 miles east of Little Rock.

Now, the rapper is requesting that he remain free while his attorneys petition to have him placed in a minimum security prison closer to his Atlanta home. T.I., whose real name is Clifford Harris Jr., has asked the court to delay his upcoming sentence by 10 days. He was scheduled to turn himself in by noon on May 26.

T.I. will reportedly be eligible for early release within ten months, but he's dismissed/disputed claims he'll only serve two months behind bars. Following his release, the rapper will remain on probation for three years and pay fines totaling $100,000.
