T.I. will join the cast of VH1's hip-hop based drama, The Breaks in a reoccurring role.

Tip, who is no stranger to the screen, having recently starred in Ant-Man, Get Hard and House of Lies, will join the cast as powerful attorney Paul Anders, Billboard reports. T.I.'s characters will defend Wood Harris' character, Barry Fouray, following a public scandal.

The current cast includes Afton Willamson (HBO’s The Night Of...), Wood Harris (The Wire), Mack Wilds (90210), Antoine Harris (Ballers), David Call (The Magicians), Evan Handler (Sex and the City), Melonie Diaz (Fruitvale Station), Sinqua Walls (Power) and Ali Ahn (Billions), and recurring players  Teyana Taylor (G.O.O.D Music/Def Jam Recordings) and Gloria Reuben (Mr. Robot).

The show, a two hour event that served as a back door pilot premiered back in January 2016 to high reviews, and a month later in February, the network ordered a full season. Based on Dan Charnas book The Big Payback: The History of the Business of Hip-Hop, the series aims to intersect ’90s nostalgia with hip-hop for the masses. The Breaks isn't the only hip-hop new series to garner interest this year. The Get Down, a series focusing on hip-hop in the early 80s, debuted on Netflix back in August to mostly positive reviews as well.

The Breaks will return to VH1 in January 2017.
