T.I. has joined forces with Dr. Dre for his new single, "Dope," which features Marsha Ambrosius singing on the hook.

The song, which samples one of Aaliyah's signature hits, "Rock the Boat," arrives just in the time for the summer, complete with an infectious West Coast swinging bass line that thankfully evokes old-school Dre production.

On the song, Tip raps about being in love with his life and his family and compares it to being addicted to drugs.

"Could do this s--- forever / Can't even put it in words how I am in love with her / From slinging, hustling drugs with her / The jet mine 50 million / A wonderful feeling / S---, I'm high as a motherf---er / I'm high as a motherf---er / Don't ask me s---, make me lie to you motherf---er," he raps.

The song also finds the Atlanta rhymer spitting with renewed energy and urgency. "Truth is for real, feel like Dre and Pharrell mixed with Eric B and Rakim shorty hell on a scale / And still the game enticing me, like every time I see her They like to pop a seal, high enough to see Aaliyah," he spits.

According to reports, the video for the single will drop exclusively on Tidal this Friday (May 20) it and will feature appearances from some of Tip's hometown homies, including Andre 3000, Killer Mike and DJ Drama. Fellow rappers Nelly, Travis Scott and Big Sean will also make a cameo in the clip.

"Dope"  will appear on Tip's anticipated tenth studio album, The Dime Trap, due out later this year.
