T.I. Documents Peaceful Rally in Atlanta: ‘We Outchea!’ [VIDEO]
Just hours after Snoop Dogg and the Game lead a peaceful march in Los Angeles on Friday (July 8) to protest the deaths of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile, T.I. marched with hundreds of people in a rally through his hometown of Atlanta.
Tip documented the event on social media by posting videos and photos on his Twitter and Instagram accounts. The Grand Hustle leader, along with 15-year-old son Domani, marched with the people from the National Center for Civil and Human Rights to the CNN Center.
Afterward, hundreds of demonstrators, who chanted "no justice, no racist police," tried to venture onto the highway but was blocked by the police.
The amazing images captured from a helicopter - via 11Alive News - shows the solidarity among the protesters as they engaged in a standoff with state troopers on the Connector.
“If you enter the highway, you endanger your own life, the lives of innocent motorists & the lives of our officers,” Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed explained via Twitter about the blockade. “We are better than that.”
On T.I.'s Instagram page, the veteran rapper saluted his fellow Atliens and said he was proud to have participated in the rally, which remained peaceful until the early morning hours. “I LOVE MY PEOPLE!!!!! Proud to have been a part of this moment. Look at US… We Outchea!!!!!” he wrote.
It's always good to see rappers come out to show their commitment to the people in what has been a very sad and eventful week in America.
