Solange to Host Benefit Concerts for Hurricane Harvey Victims
Since Hurricane Harvey hit, devastating the city of Houston and surrounding areas and cities in Texas, many celebrities have stepped up to aid in the relief.
From donating $50,000 (Kevin Hart), $100,000 (Chris Brown), $500,000 (the Kardashians) to a whopping $1 million (Sandra Bullock), celebs have put their money where their mouths are in a big way. Houston's own Trae the Truth took it a step further, rescuing people from flood waters in a boat.
Now, Solange, who is a Houston native, has announced how she plans to help out, by hosting a benefit concert for victims of the hurricane. Specifically, the singer will be headlining a show in Boston on Sept. 28, with all proceeds benefiting victims of Harvey.
Last week, Solange announced dates for "Orion's Rise" a short tour of sorts in which she'll perform at John F Kennedy Center in Washington DC; Radio City Hall in New York City; and the Greek Theatre in Berkeley, California. The Boston date will now be added to the schedule.
"I will be doing a special "Orion's Rise" show in Boston, and ALL proceeds will go towards Hurricane Harvey Relief," she wrote on Instagram. "I'm committed to partnering with organizations on the ground in Houston and making contributions to uplift the city that raised me with so much love. See you September 28th Boston, I thank you in advance for making this a special meaningful night!"
Additionally, Solange has added another show at Radio City Music Hall, and $3 from every ticket sale will go towards Harvey victims.
