In celebration of becoming a naturalized citizen, Slick Rick is embarking on a “Victory” tour in May.

The 18-city trek will launch in Columbus, Ohio on May 7 and will make stops in Omaha, Neb., Kansas, City, Mo., Houston, Cleveland and Charlottesville, Va., before wrapping it up in Asheville, N.C., on May 31. Details of a New York show will be announced at a later date.

On April 15, Rick (aka Ricky Walters) was sworn in at an official ceremony alongside dozen of other new citizens at in New York.

“I’m celebrating a new beginning and am thankful for the many blessings already coming my way," said Slick Rick in a press release (via HipHopDX). “One is the blessing of doing what I do best - perform - to celebrate the victory of citizenship after living in this country for so many years. We will celebrate in style.”
