Sampha Returns With New Song ‘Timmy’s Prayer’
Sampha is back with a soulful new song called "Timmy's Prayer."
The British electronic singer has been on a hiatus for almost three years. Along with the song, the 26-year-old pianist penned a letter to his fans.
"It's been a while. I've had a lot to process these past couple of years, as we all do, and it's hard to articulate sometimes," he wrote. "I wanted to say thank you to all the people who've shown me so much love and support. I'm looking forward to start sharing my music with you again."
The smooth track brings Sampha's soothing vocals with heartfelt lyrics. "I messed up, I know now / There's no room for me to play now / Nowhere to dig my way out / My brother always said I'm a dreamer, dreamer / You better watch out where this life'll lead ya," he sings before later adding that "If heaven's a prison, then I am your prisoner."
Sampha has been giving fans a taste of whats to come over the past few years with a feature on Kanye West's "Saint Pablo" as well as a few appearances on SBTRKT's Wonder Where We Land. But most fans will most likely remember Sampha from his tender vocal performance on Drake's ballad "Too Much" from his 2013 album, Nothing Was the Same.
But we're happy to hear that Sampha is back making music again. Listen to his new song below.
