When you think of a volcano you think of lava: a colorful explosion of molten rock that bears all kinds of oranges, and reds. That's probably why New York sneaker designer Ronnie Fieg chose this colorway for the new Gel Lyte V 'Volcano.'

It's been six years since Fieg first teamed up with Asics and reinvigorated the brand, particularly its Gel Lyte III series, and since then a lot of folks have been eagerly anticipating his new creations.

On Oct. 25, the Queens native and Asics will release the Ronnie Fieg x Asics Gel Lyte V 'Volcano,' which will come in a muted red color with burgundy and orange trim. It's also made of a mesh, nubuck and pigskin mixture.

Although Fieg often uses pretty bright primary and neon colors for the '90s running shoes, this time around he chooses a much more muted tertiary palette and doesn't which gives the sneakers a more subtle aesthetic. Plus, the off-white mid-sole breaks up the color pattern and adds balance.

The 'Volcano' drops this Friday and will cost $160 and you can purchase them online or at one of Fieg's Kith stores in New York City. Only a limited number of pairs will be released, so we advise that you start making your purchase plans now.
