It’s been a tough year for Robin Thicke. After losing his copyright infringement case against the Marvin Gaye family and finalizing his divorce from Paula Patton, the R&B singer is back with a new single, “Morning Sun.”

The orchestral soul ballad is the kick-off single for his upcoming eighth album of the same name. On the breezy tune, Thicke affectionately sings about a one-night stand that has now developed into something more.

“You are the one so why stop it / You are the one that calls me papi / You are the one, good and naughty / Baby, you’re the one,” sings Thicke, who is currently dating model April Love Geary.

The 38-year-old crooner then adds, “You’re the only one, the only one, the only one / You were born a star / But now you're my midnight moon and my morning sun.”

We would be remiss if we didn't say that Thicke's "Morning Sun" has some Barry White influence pervading through the song. Hopefully, Interscope Records' Business and Legal Affairs Department made sure that everything was taken care of before they released it to the public.

Overall, "Morning Sun" is a sumptuous love ballad by Thicke that will set the mood right on a romantic summer night or morning.

If you love the song, you can cop it now via iTunes.
