Rihanna Calls President Trump ‘An Immoral Pig’ Over Immigration Order; Federal Court Halts Order
Reactions to President Donald Trump’s executive order to ban citizens from mostly Muslim countries from entering the United States have been swift and incendiary. Rihanna is among the growing list of celebrities who are vehemently opposed the immigration ban and she expressed her opinion on her Twitter account on Saturday (Jan. 29).
"Disgusted! The news is devastating! America is being ruined right before our eyes! What an immoral pig you have to be to implement such BS!!" she tweeted.
For those who don't know, President Trump's order denies entry into the country to people from the seven Muslim-majority countries for 90 days. In response to the U.S. ban, Iran implemented their ban of U.S. citizens to their country.
On Saturday (Jan. 28), hundreds of demonstrators protested outside international airports from JFK to LAX. Then later that night, a Federal Judge issued a stay on the order. Although it might be temporary at this point.
According to Vox, the judge’s ruling blocked part of the president’s actions, preventing the government from deporting documented people who are legally here in the U.S. but found themselves entangled by the presidential order.
So this fight is hardly over. We can expect more protests at airports. Read Rihanna's tweet below and watch the ACLU's partial victory in the fight to rescind the immigration ban.
