Rihanna is a pretty loyal person. The singer has parted ways with her record company Def Jam to join Jay Z's Roc Nation, because if you remember, the Caribbean songstress was discovered by Hov around 2004, and was signed to Def Jam one year later when he was still the label's president.

Of course, the rap legend left Def Jam in 2009, to start Roc Nation, which has since turned into a one-stop-shop for artists and sports figures, since it serves as a management company, record label and PR agency. And with Jay Z at the helm, it's new clients receive instant media attention, which is great for someone who's still up and coming.

But obviously, Rihanna is no newcomer. In fact, she's arguably the biggest R&B and pop star next to Beyonce, so it'll be interesting to see how much further Roc Nation can take her. Plus, she and Jay Z have maintained both a friendship and strong business relationship throughout the years, so it's really no surprise the two are pairing up again.

However, Def Jam will still be involved with Rihanna's next album as far as the distribution goes, but Roc Nation will handle everything else when it comes to her project.
