If this year hasn't quite felt right, blame that on Rihanna. This is the first year since 2004 the singer has gone without a Billboard Hot 100 song. Do take note that this was before she dropped 'Pon De Replay,' her debut single.

This could also be the first two-year stretch without a Rihanna album in her career -- emphasis on could. In an interview with 'Entertainment Tonight' about her new project, known as 'R8,' she reveals it's coming "very soon."

“That’s my hope,” the 26-year-old shares. “I’m really excited about the music that we’ve been working on, so I can’t wait for everybody to hear it.”

Rihanna also played new songs exclusively for label executives earlier this month, including a possible single titled, 'I’ve Been Searching for Something to Ignite Me When I’m Alone,' according to Just Jared.

A surprise release could arrive this year, though. December is coming, and it wouldn't be the first time that sort of thing has happened.
