Q-Tip and Slum Village member T3 have both signed on to appear at the J Dilla Foundation's 2nd annual One Won't Do 2: J Dilla Tribute and Fundraiser. The event will celebrate the life of the late producer and feature a performance by Dilla's younger brother, rapper Illa J.

The event which will take place at New York City's Drom nightclub next month. Other acts on the bill include DJ Metaphysic and Mick Boogie. "One of the things he wanted me to do with his legacy was to use it to help others ... kids who were musically gifted but had little hope due to poverty," Dilla's mother, Maureen Yancey, said in an interview. "It is the foundation's hope that by funding and encouraging such progressive music curricula, young prodigies, and music enthusiast alike will have the tools and support they need to flourish and become successful within the entertainment industry."

Dilla, born James Yancey, passed away in 2006 from complications brought on by lupus. As one of hip-hop's most prolific producers, the Detroit native's resume included tracks for the likes of Janet Jackson, Busta Rhymes and A Tribe Called Quest. In honor of his career and commitment to his craft, the J Dilla Foundation helps to fund inner-city music programs as well as provide scholarships for students attending schools with progressive curricula in the field of music.

The One Won't Do 2: J Dilla Tribute and Fundraiser takes place Feb. 3, at 9PM. All proceeds from the event will go to the J Dilla Foundation. For more information, or to purchase tickets, visit Dromnyc.com.
