The Alchemist and Oh No can both rap but they are mostly known as producers for some of the biggest acts around, including Mobb Deep, Jadakiss, Eminem, Lil Wayne and Mos Def. While pretty different stylistically, both are hardcore hip-hop heads and have joined forces for a special collaborative album in the vein of J Dilla and Madlib's 'Jaylib' record. Going by the name Gangrene, the duo's debut effort, 'Gutter Water,' is expected to drop on October 12 via Decon Records.

The project has been steadily building over the past three years as an open and unique dialogue between both artists. Using technology to their advantage, Alchemist and Oh No sent tracks back-and-forth, showcasing new production styles and improving their potent mixture of grimy beatmaking and strong lyricism.

'Gutter Water' will feature production from both artists and showcase the two rapping over the others' beats. Check out the duo's new track, 'Chain Swinging,' for an example of where things are headed. Boasting a strong, Indian-inflected beat from Oh No, Alchemist pushes hard over the track like it's 1995 all over again.

The album also sports a good number of high-profile features. Guests include everyone from Raekwon and Guilty Simpson to Big Twins, Evidence, Roc C and Fashawn.
