Prince’s Estate to Drop Unreleased Music Very Soon Says Adviser: ‘It’s Mind-Blowing’
Prince has new music that’s coming out soon. In an interview with Variety, Troy Carter, an adviser to the late music icon’s estate, revealed that Prince had a treasure trove of new music.
“He was a guy who practically lived in a recording studio, and once we started going through [the unreleased material] we really started finding some gems,” said Carter. “I heard some music the other night that was pretty mind-blowing and we’re getting some stuff mixed right now. We’ve got great projects in the works that I’m excited to talk about."
"So the answer is yes, there will be unreleased Prince music coming soon," he concluded.
This wonderful news comes as the Prince Estate is planning to celebrate the Purple One with a four-day memorial extravaganza in his native hometown of Minneapolis in April. The highlight of the festivities is a live concert presentation titled Prince: Live on the Big Screen at the Target Center on April 21.
According to an event description, the show will “feature newly remastered and never-before-released audio and video of Prince accompanied live on the Target Center stage by a super-group of musicians who performed alongside Prince throughout his legendary career.”
The Celebration 2018, honoring the music and legacy of Prince, will run from April 19-22 in Minneapolis.
