President Donald Trump plans to sign executive orders to move forward with the building of the Keystone XL and Dakota Pipelines on Tuesday (Jan. 24), according to ABC News.

The decision will no doubt anger environmental advocates who say that the projects would leave severe negative impacts on the areas where the pipelines are built. The Standing Rock Sioux tribe and its allies, who have been vigorously protesting the Dakota Access project since July 2016, say it would damage their sacred and cultural lands.

Early Tuesday morning, President Trump described himself as an "environmentalist" but promised to cut back regulations and taxes on industry. "I am, to a large extent, an environmentalist," Trump said. "I believe in it, but it's out of control and we're going to make a very short process and we're going to either give you your permits or we're not going to give you your permits, but you're going to know very quickly."

Folks on Twitter have expressed outrage over President Trump's decision to advance the production of the Keystone and Dakota pipelines.

"We need to organize and peacefully resist the @realDonaldTrump administration on #dapl right now. Democracy must overcome tyranny," tweeted one person. Another concerned citizen wrote, "Sad day. Stay strong all #DAPL protesters and water protectors. This is the time to RISE up."
