Migos’ Offset Finally Released from Jail [VIDEO]
After spending eight months in a Georgia jail, Migos rapper Offset was finally released on Friday (Dec. 4).
Rapper Rich the Kid shared the good news on his Instagram page with a 15-second video. In the clip, groupmates Takeoff and Quavo are joyously celebrating while Offset is clearly happy that he’s a freed man.
Offset was held without bail in Bulloch County, Ga., since the group's arrest in April for drugs and weapons charges. According to WSB-TV, the Atlanta rapper pled guilty to felony inciting a riot in jail, which he claims he didn’t do.
As part of the plea deal, prosecutors agreed to drop the drug, gun and gang-related charges against him. Offset was also sentenced to five years probation and will receive credit for the 230 days he spent in jail.
Meanwhile, Takeoff and Quavo also accepted plea deals from prosecutors. Takeoff was facing minor drug charges but was sentenced to 12 months of probation. Quavo pled no contest to misdemeanor marijuana charges and received a suspended sentence after paying a fine.
In the end, this means that Migos’ legal battle in Georgia is finally over. Now the trio can get back to making music. Speaking of which, Offset released a get-out-of-jail track called "First Day Out." On the song, the "Versace" rapper apologized to his fans for the setback but he's back and he's ready to grind.
Welcome home, Offset!
