Nicki Minaj is one of music's biggest stars but when it comes to hip-hop, the New York rapper doesn't feel she is given the respect she deserves and believes it has to do with sexism.

On Wednesday (Oct. 25), Nicki discussed the issue on Twitter, wondering why women "must work twice as hard" as man to get respect. "In any field, women must work TWICE as hard to even get HALF the respect her male counterparts get. When does this stop?" she tweeted.

Nicki went on to say that when many great MCs collaborate with rappers such as Drake or Kendrick Lamar, its' because they're dope but when one of the "greats" collabs with Nicki, it's because a gun was put to their head.

"The greats collaborated w/Drake, Kendrick and Jcole b/c they're dope MC's. They collab'd w/nicki cuz someone pulled a gun to their heads..." she tweeted. "Putting ppl in the same sentences as me after my 10 years of consistent winning. What are you teaching THEM? They'd never do this to a man."

The rapper ended her tweet storm by quoting an old tweet from Kendrick where he wrote, "Just realized. Moe niggaz hate nicki minaj than woman do."

Minaj responded to the tweet, writing, "Kendrick's tweet from 7 years ago. This is so telling. And scary. I'd have to wear some baggy pants n timbs for men to openly give props."
