Nicki Minaj is paying tribute to a fallen loved one dear to her heart on a new track. The Young Money star showcases her signature rhymes and singing skills on 'We Miss You,' which debuted on Funkmaster Flex's InFlexWeTrust.com.

The track, which is reportedly an older work, comes at a time when the 'Pink Friday' creator learned of her cousin's untimely passing during the Fourth of July holiday. While it may be old, the lyrics are eerily spot on. "Why'd you have to leave in July/ On a peaceful and serene summer night/ I wish that you would've waited until September/ Just a couple more memories to remember," she rhymes.

On the chorus, the multi-colored wig wearing MC croons, "Why'd you have to go so soon," over a simple beat supported by kicking drums.

Minaj revealed the news of her cousin's passing on July 4. Nicholas Telemague was murdered in Brooklyn, N.Y., where he resided. Police reports revealed he was shot several times in his upper torso.

While Telemague's death is a black cloud for the time being, Nicki Minaj will be celebrating her success during 'E! Entertainment Special: Nicki Minaj,' a special interview with the rapper, which premieres on E! next week.

Lil Wayne and family members all give their time during the special to express sentiments on who the woman behind the wigs really is. "She used to steal the car all of the time. And she didn't have her license yet," said Nicki's father, Robert Maraj.

The special airs July 13 at 10PM on E!.
