During a rehearsal at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles, one of Nicki Minaj's backup dancers was bitten by a snake. The Queen Barbz was on stage when the incident occurred on Friday afternoon (Aug. 22) but was not injured.

According to MTV News, the dancer was treated on-site by a medic and then rushed to a local hospital where she was treated for non-life-threatening injuries on her left arm.

The non-venomous snake that bit the dancer was a Dumeril's boa constrictor named Rocky who has been in the entertainment business for 15 years. Even though this kind of snake isn't venomous, their bites can lead to infection through the transmittance of bacteria.

Apparently, during a run-through of Minaj's 'Anaconda' performance, the woman had the snake wrapped around her shoulders and, at some point, the reptile bit her. The music stopped and the snake handler removed the boa constrictor from the scene.

Minaj was concerned about the dancer and went backstage to check on her to see if she was OK.

The MTV Video Music Awards will air live from the Forum in Los Angeles on Sunday at 9PM ET.
