Ne-Yo will be pleading for his heart, but it won't be in a love song. Instead, he'll be channeling the Tin Man in NBC's The Wiz Live!

The crooner shared the first look at his character's get-up via Instagram while promos for the upcoming televised event are also increasing anticipation for the remake of the 1974 play, The Wiz.

"ya'll ain't ready.....NEYO as the TINMAN!" he wrote in the caption.

Costume designer Paul Tazewell revealed details about the singer's in an interview with People magazine.

"He is a woodsman translated into the world of tin," Tazewell said. "It's much more literal to work clothing than it is created out of a patchwork of metal. And it's topped off with a tree-worker's metal hat."

A complete look at the rest of the characters showcases comedian David Allen Grier as the Cowardly Lion and Elijah Kelley, who starred in the The Butler, as the Scarecrow. Newcomer Shanice Williams will lead the trio to The Wiz, who will be portrayed by Queen Latifah. Meanwhile, Orange is the New Black star Uzo Aduba will battle it out with Mary J. Blige as the former takes on the role of Glinda, the Good Witch of the South, and the latter as the Wicked Witch of the West known as Evillene.

The Wiz served as an African-American version of classic film The Wizard of Oz. A subsequent movie of the Broadway play starred Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, Lena Horne and Richard Pryor.

The Wiz Live! is scheduled to air on NBC on Dec. 3.
