Ne-Yo and Crystal Smith Welcome Baby Boy: ‘He’s So Beautiful’ [PHOTO]
Just in time for Father's Day, Ne-Yo and his wife, Crystal Smith, welcomed their second child together on Thursday (June 14).
The baby boy’s name is Roman Alexander-Raj Smith. According to Crystal’s Instagram page, the baby arrived at 2:11PM, weighing in at 6 pounds, 15 ounces and 19 inches long. “He’s so BEAUTIFUL,” Crystal wrote in the caption.
However, the delivery didn’t go smoothly as planned. Apparently, during her doctor’s visit on Thursday, doctors discovered that Roman was in grave danger in her womb and had to rush Crystal to the hospital to perform an emergency C-section.
“Scariest moments ever!!!” she wrote in a second post about the delivery. “But he’s here and he’s healthy and we are so happy!!!!!!”
There’s no word if Ne-Yo was there in the delivery room with his wife, but he has been hinting on social media that the baby was coming very soon.
“Thank you @neyo for giving me the one thing I’ve always longed for.. my very own family!” wrote Crystal. “I love you and these kids so much!”
Ne-Yo and Crystal welcomed their first child together, son Shaffer Chimere Smith Jr., in May 2016, just one month after they tied the knot in Los Angeles. The R&B singer has two other children, daughter Madilyn Grace and son Mason Evan, from a previous relationship.
While the proud parents are happy with having a newborn son, back in October, they told E! News that they would like to have a baby girl.
"If it's a girl then the shop is closed but if it's a boy then we have to do it again!" Crystal said. "I've been dreaming of the same little girl since I was a little girl and we won't stop until we get her!"
Congratulations to Ne-Yo and Crystal Smith on their new bundle of joy!
