Memphis Bleek, former Jay Z protégé, is reportedly broke. Bossip reports that the Brooklyn rhymer has filed for Chapter 13 bankruptcy and revealed that he allegedly only has $100.

The former Roc-A-Fella rapper filed for Chapter 13 back on March 14th at the US Federal Court in New Jersey. He reportedly claims he has assets worth roughly $274k; his home in New, a Chevy Impala and wedding rings are among his valuables. But Bleek's liabilities and debts are nearly $385K. Bleek declares that his Chase bank account is empty, his entrepreneurial efforts are limited to a failed company called "Get Low Touring" and, yes, he also claims that he only has $100 cash.

The news comes as a bit of a shock because of Bleek's close and long-standing relationship with Jay Z; who was just named to Forbes' highest paid couples' list--alongside his superstar wife, Beyonce. The power couple was tops on the list, with a combed worth of $107.5 million last year.

"The sultry songstress pulled in $54 million, good enough to claim the No. 34 spot on our latest Celebrity 100 list—the annual ranking of the world’s top-earning superstars. Jay Z finished a smidgeon behind, taking the No. 36 slot with a $53.5 million tally," reads the Forbes report. "Both got a boost from Beyoncé’s sixth No. 1 album, Lemonade, which debuted exclusively on Jay Z’s Tidal streaming service (his wife and several other Celebrity 100 members are co-owners). But Beyoncé edged her husband in annual earnings by playing 19 shows during our June-to-June scoring period, easily topping Jay Z’s grand total of two."

Over a decade ago, Jay famously declared on Kanye West's "Diamonds From Sierra Leone" remix that "Bleek could be one hit away his whole career/As long as I'm alive, he's a millionaire."

2005 never seemed so long ago.
