We don't have a 'Detox' album from Dr. Dre but we do have a verse from the rapper. R&B songbird Marsha Ambrosius managed to get Dre to spit some bars on her latest single, 'Stronger.' The song, which is a cover of Sade's classic tune 'Love Is Stronger Than Pride,' is from Ambrosius' new album, 'Friends & Lovers.'

Honestly, the song doesn't need an upgrade but it's good to hear the former N.W.A. member rap about a turbulent relationship.

"Try to numb the pain with juice and gin / It's like abuse / What's the use with the bumps and bruises if we are moving towards a losing end / If I'm losing you then I refuse to win," he raps.

There's also some jazzy horn riffs and eerie synths added to this version that wasn't in the original track. And, of course, the sampled beat from Jeru the Damaja's 'Come Clean' still knocks hard.

After several delays, Ambrosius' new album 'Friends & Lovers' is expected to arrive in stores on July 15, according to Amazon.

"It’s been a tedious, very rewarding journey as far as creating the album, but that’s what I do. I make albums,” says Ambrosius of the project (via Rap-Up). “I had to live and breathe this, whether that was the heartache, whether that was getting over it, whether that was lust, love, f---, love, whatever it was, I had to be there. For me, that’s what I’ve been enjoying the most is living it.”

The collection boasts a guest appearance from Charlie Wilson and production assists from studio mavericks Da Internz, Pop & Oak and the J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League. Peep the tracklisting below.
