Marsha Ambrosius has been on hiatus from R&B for awhile and with good reason. The soul star is a new mom to 5-month-old Nyla. On Wednesday (May 3), the former Floetry singer released a new single called “Luh Ya.”

The tender single, produced by Harmony Samuels, is dedicated to Nyla as she coos affectionate lyrics to her baby girl. In the end, there is no greater love than a mother’s love to her baby.

“Luh Ya” is the first single from Marsha as an independent artist. She’s currently on the “M.E. Tour” with fellow R&B singer Eric Benet.

Meanwhile, if you go on Marsah's Instagram page you will find some of the most adorable videos and photos of Nyla. The R&B mom told VH1 that she's loving her new phase in life -- motherhood.

"[It's] amazingly, beautifully, terrifying and gratifying all at the same time," she said. "You have a new life that came into this world out of love, me and her father wanting this to be a reality, and now that she’s here it’s like, oh my goodness. Wow!"

"We’re parents. I’m a mother. I gave birth to a child. And it’s so overwhelming. It’s like starting life all over again," she continued. "I get to watch all of my Disney movies all over again through new eyes. My ABC’s and 1-2-3’s and all of these melodies that my kid doesn’t know yet. If her dad is singing to her, or dancing, or playing with her it’s all brand new to this human being, this new human being that’s ours, so that by itself is just so beautiful."
