Macklemore & Ryan Lewis have once again demonstrated that it does not matter when a single is released for it to suddenly become a hit song. Almost one year after putting the out 'Same Love' as a lead-up to 'The Heist,' the song has cracked the Top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100 charts this week. This is the third song from the Seattle duo to become a Top 20 single, joining both 'Thrift Shop' and 'Can't Hold Us.' Both of these songs eventually became the number one song in the nation, an incredible feat for a group that released their album completely independently. 'The Heist' is now heading towards the one million copies sold milestone.

Although the video for 'Same Love' already came out back in October 2, 2012, the song has received a boost thanks to a couple of Supreme Court rulings last week. The court ruled that the "Defense Of Marriage Act" was unconstitutional, while the second rejected California's Proposition 8 to ban gay marriage statewide.
