Lupe Fiasco Claims He’s a ‘Japanophile,’ Explains Love of Hot Dogs With GQ
Lupe Fiasco is currently crafting his fourth studio album, Lupe Fiasco's Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album. During some downtime in the studio, the Chicago native spoke with GQ magazine about some of the things that make his hip-hop world a little brighter.
From kicks to beef hot dogs (a man's gotta eat, right?) the thought-provoking rap star details his "10 Essentials." Fiasco fancies one particular brand of the grill favorite: Hebrew National. "Hebrew National answers to a higher authority, better packaging," he explains. "It's one of those things that, coming from Chicago, it's one of our staples."
He also shares his fondness for a far-off city. "I could just stay in Tokyo," Fiasco admits. "I think that's because I'm a slight Japanophile, a slight otaku kind of kid. I love manga. I love Japanese animation."
Check out all of Lupe Fiasco's "essentials" here.
