Lupe Fiasco dropped a loosie on Monday (Sept. 25) via his Twitter account. The Chicago rapper released “Running from President” in honor of the 5th anniversary of his 2012 LP, Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album Pt. 1.

Over a plodding beat, courtesy of his longtime collaborator Soundtrakk, Lupe delivers ruminations about our current affairs including POTUS. “Trump on acid / Didn’t mean to gas it / Pull up to the pump with his trunks on backwards,” he raps.

Lupe's Food & Liquor II turned five on Monday (Sept. 25). The collection featured guest appearances from Bilal, Guy Sebastian, Poo Bear and others with production assists by hitmakers Soundtrakk, 1500 or Nothin', the Runners, the Audibles, among others.

Among the highlights on the Grammy-nominated project included "Bitch Bad" where Lupe talks about the misuse of the word "bitch" in rap songs and how it shapes children's reflections of themselves. Another song, "Battle Scars," garnered him a No. 1 hit on the Billboard R&B/Hip-hop Digital Song chart and a NAACP Image Awards nomination. The song eventually went platinum.

Lupe is now working on a new album titled DROGAS Wave which is due out early 2018.
