Lil Wayne -- who pleaded guilty in October to attempted criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree -- appeared in a New York courtroom today (Dec. 15) where a judge set his sentencing for Feb. 9, 2010. Wayne will likely report to prison on the same day, just a week after the scheduled release of his latest project, 'Rebirth,' on Feb. 1.

According to reports, the rap star will serve a 365-day sentence for the weapons charge stemming from a July 2007 incident in which New York City police officers boarded Wayne's tour bus and claimed to have caught Wayne tossing a .40-caliber handgun into a bag.

In related Wayne news, a track featuring Eminem off the much-delayed 'Rebirth' leaked this morning. The song dubbed 'Drop the World' exploded onto the 'net causing a major buzz in the blogosphere. Much like Eminem and Jay-Z's acclaimed 'Renegade' collaboration, the Detroit MC attempts to upstage Wayne on his own track. If the rumors behind today's leak are true, we can expect to hear more 'Rebirth' shortly.
