A Dionne Warwick biopic is in the works, and the legendary singer apparently has her sights set on former Destiny's Child member LeToya Luckett to play her in the film.

"She is perfect and she has exactly the right look," Warwick said about Luckett. "She will bring out what is needed for this part."

Warwick made the announcement for the biopic, tentatively titled Dionne, at the Cannes Film Festival. While Warwick wants Luckett to play her, she's interested in Lady Gaga taking on the role of her rival Cilla Black, who took a song Burt Bacharach had written for her, 1964's "Anyone Who Had a Heart," to the top of the U.K. charts. The song was later covered by Luther Vandross.

However, reps for Lady Gaga says the pop singer is not involved in the project.

Other cast members include actress Olympia Dukakis playing Marlene Dietrich, who was Warwick's mentor at the start of her career, and Danny Glover will portray Warwick's father, Mansel Warwick.

The film will reportedly focus on the 1962-1968 years of Warwick's career, which saw her produced hits including "Walk On By" (later covered most memorably by Isaac Hayes) and "Don't Make Me Over."

Veteran filmmaker Mario Van Peebles will likely direct the film, though no production schedule or release date has been released as of yet.
