Officials with the Memphis Sheriff department are reporting that soul icon Isaac Hayes died of a stroke. Hayes The Grammy and Academy Award-winning singer was found unconscious, next to a treadmill, in his Memphis home and eventually rushed to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead on Sunday. An autopsy was not performed, but paperwork filed by Haye's physician sites a stroke as the apparent cause of death.

The crooner's funeral will take place Monday at Hope Presbyterian Church in Cordova, Tennessee, which is located one county south of Haye's birthplace.
