Rapper King Louie was shot in the head in Chicago on Wednesday afternoon (Dec. 23).

According to DNAinfo (Chicago), King Louie, whose real name is Louis Johnson Jr., was sitting in a parked car around 3:30PM when an unknown assailant shot him in the head. He was reportedly taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where he’s listed in stable condition.

King Louie’s manager, Big Homie Doe, confirmed that King Louie was "doing OK." Louie’s publicist told XXL that he's doing fine and that the bullet grazed the rapper's head but “he is able to talk.”

King Louie is a prominent rapper in Chicago's drill scene. In 2015, he released two mixtapes, Drilluminati 3: God of Drill and 6 God Tony. He also dropped a song called "F--- Spike Lee," in response to the director's polarizing flick, Chi-Raq, which tackles the issue of gun violence in Chicago.

We want to send our heartfelt prayers to King Louie.
