Kanye West Unveils Yeezy Season 1 at New York Fashion Week [VIDEO]
Yeezy Season is going strong. Kanye West unveiled his Yeezy Season 1 collection with Adidas at New York Fashion Week on Wednesday (Sept. 16). The event was also live-streamed at hundreds of movie theaters across the U.S. as well.
Our first impression of ‘Ye’s capsule collection is that it’s very minimal with lots of beige and dark hues of brown. We can only assume that beige is the new black for the fall season. Also, if you're into Star Wars, this collection might be right up your alley (more on that later).
Fashion icon Anna Wintour was in attendance as well as Mr. West’s wife, Kim Kardashian, and their daughter, North West, who was well-behaved unlike last year. Rappers 2 Chainz, Drake, Pusha T, Vic Mensa 2 Chainz and Fabolous were there as well.
Among the highlights from the Yeezy Season 1 collection are the footwear. We spotted a new colorway for the Yeezy Boost 750. It appears that a darker brown color is on the horizon, although the all-black version is on everybody's sneaker list this season. Let's hope West drops both colorways before the year is out.
West also premiered a new song called "Fade." If you recall, last year at the launch of his Yeezy Season line, he debuted the haunting track “Wolves” with Vic Mensa and Sia. The bass-heavy "Fade" boasts a sample of “I’m Losing You” by the '70s R&B group the Undisputed Truth and guest appearances from Ty Dolla $ign and Post Malone.
To sum up the Yeezy Season 1 collection, we give you rapper Immortal Technique's clever tweet below. May the Yeezy force be with you.
