Kanye West is teaming up with MTV to surprise young Iraq war veterans as part of the network's upcoming news special "Choose or Lose & Kanye West Present: Homecoming." The one-hour special will follow West and MTV veejay Sway as they make surprise visits to the homes of three returning soldiers.

"There are hundreds of veterans out there who are falling through the cracks. They make the ultimate sacrifices for us by laying down their lives, but it seems like a lot of them just get forgotten about," West said in an interview. "I know my music inspires and helps a lot of people, but you can always do more. I teamed up with MTV and took the opportunity to share the spotlight with these veterans and hear their stories. I went to their homes to listen and get their firsthand experiences. I wanted to hear their stories."

Not only will Yeezy give the veterans a chance to tell their stories, but the rapper/producer and the Dr. Donda West Foundation will give each soldier a special gift, including rent and tuition assistance.

Viewers can get a sneak peak of the special on Friday, right here on the BoomBox. The special will air on MTV on July 28.
